Mas Trailers, Por Favor by Craig Kerbrat

Today was another day full of new trailers! I was busy all day so I only just watched them tonight, but here we go!

First up, we got a trailer for the Hunger Games prequel movie, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

I haven’t read the book that this one is based on, but it looks really interesting! I loved the original books and the movies they made based on them. Maybe I’ll have to find the book and read it before the movie releases. I’ve got time, ‘cause this one is out November 17th, 2023.

Next up, a new trailer came out for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

I know a lot of people got pretty burned out on Transformers movies, me included, but this one looks really fun. I’ve always liked the Transformers cartoons and toys, but Beast Wars was the series that really sold me on Transformers. So getting a movie with those classic Beast Wars characters is right up my alley. I don’t even care if it ends up being terrible, I’m going to see this one in theatre for sure. The wait for this one is a lot shorter, June 9th, 2023.

And now, I’ve saved the best for last. From Walt Disney Animation Studios, we have the first trailer for Wish!

This was teased at D23 last year as a celebration of 100 years of Disney, and I’ve been really curious about it ever since. This trailer makes me very excited. It looks like a masterpiece. They’ve layered a watercolour effect over the 3D animation and it’s beautiful. I can’t wait for this movie. I have to, ‘cause it’s out November 22nd, 2023. But still.

And that’s all I’ve got for now. I know I’ve missed some good trailers lately, but I’m sure you’ve seen them already, so we’re just going to move forward.

Movie Trailer Triple Play by Craig Kerbrat

It’s been a busy 24 hours for movie trailers! We’ll start with the newest trailer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse!

This looks like a really fun movie. Into the Spider-Verse was one of the best superhero movies in a long time, so this o e has a lot to live up to. I don’t want to put too much pressure on it, though. I just want a fun movie.

Next, we’ve got another superhero movie, but this time from DC: Blue Beetle!

This one also looks really fun. I’m a big fan of Xolo Maridueña in Cobra Kai, so I’ve been looking forward to seeing a trailer for this movie for a while.

And last, we’ve got a different kind of action movie, with Thor actor Chris Hemsworth returning in Extraction 2!

Do you want over the top action? Look no further! This is the movie for you. And I’ll be watching it for sure.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is out in theatres June 2nd, 2023. Blue Beetle is out in theatres August 18th, 2023. Extraction 2 is out on Netflix June 16th, 2023.

Secret Invasion by Craig Kerbrat

It’s new trailer time again! This time, Marvel Sudios has released a trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series, Secret Invasion!

There was also a recent Vanity Fair article that gave out a lot of new details on the upcoming series. You might need a subscription to view the article, but you can find it here. Or search the internet for all the details. There wasn’t anything too spoilery, but definitely some new details.

In any case, Secret Invasion premiers on June 21st, so we don’t have too long to wait and avoid spoilers. And GotG3 is out May 5th to sate our MCU appetite until then. (Tickets for that go on sale this coming Monday.)

Super Bowl Trailers! by Craig Kerbrat

Today was the Super Bowl! I, personally, care exactly zero percent about football, so I don’t watch it. But it’s an exciting day ‘cause the commercial breaks are full of news movie trailers, and those trailers get released online shortly after airing.

Today, we got a few exciting ones. First up, a movie I wasn’t really interested in, but the trailer has changed my mind: The Flash!

I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this. So I think I might actually have to watch this one. I know there’s been a lot of controversy with the lead actor, and I hope they are getting the help they need. So I’ll be keeping an eye on this one.

Next up: Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3! I’ve been “in” since this movie was announced, so I don’t need a trailer to convince me. However, this one has me a little more worried than I was before…

James Gunn has been very clear that this is the final movie of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Dave Bautista has agreed that he’s not returning after this, but I’ve sort of been under the impression that it’s the end of this iteration of the Guardians. The tone of this trailer has me thinking it might actually be the end. Period.

Next up, we got a new Super Mario Bros Movie trailer in the form of a plumbing commercial?

This is especially great if you’re familiar with The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! classic series. And even if you’re not, it’s silly and great.

And last up, we’ve got a short and sweet trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

There’s not a lot in that 30-second spot, but I am getting more excited for this movie. I would rather go in as blind as I can, so I like trailers like this that don’t give too much away. Just a tease of some of the people we’ll see.

There was also technically a Transformers trailer, but it didn’t show anything new. Except maybe naming the main human character’s companion transformer. I don’t know if we heard him talk or introduce himself before.

And I think that’s it! I kind of expected more, but what we got was pretty cool. I won’t complain. I’m looking forward to seeing some of these traileros n the big screen when I go to see Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on Thursday. What are you looking forward to?
