Super Bowl Trailers! by Craig Kerbrat

Today was the Super Bowl! I, personally, care exactly zero percent about football, so I don’t watch it. But it’s an exciting day ‘cause the commercial breaks are full of news movie trailers, and those trailers get released online shortly after airing.

Today, we got a few exciting ones. First up, a movie I wasn’t really interested in, but the trailer has changed my mind: The Flash!

I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this. So I think I might actually have to watch this one. I know there’s been a lot of controversy with the lead actor, and I hope they are getting the help they need. So I’ll be keeping an eye on this one.

Next up: Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3! I’ve been “in” since this movie was announced, so I don’t need a trailer to convince me. However, this one has me a little more worried than I was before…

James Gunn has been very clear that this is the final movie of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Dave Bautista has agreed that he’s not returning after this, but I’ve sort of been under the impression that it’s the end of this iteration of the Guardians. The tone of this trailer has me thinking it might actually be the end. Period.

Next up, we got a new Super Mario Bros Movie trailer in the form of a plumbing commercial?

This is especially great if you’re familiar with The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! classic series. And even if you’re not, it’s silly and great.

And last up, we’ve got a short and sweet trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

There’s not a lot in that 30-second spot, but I am getting more excited for this movie. I would rather go in as blind as I can, so I like trailers like this that don’t give too much away. Just a tease of some of the people we’ll see.

There was also technically a Transformers trailer, but it didn’t show anything new. Except maybe naming the main human character’s companion transformer. I don’t know if we heard him talk or introduce himself before.

And I think that’s it! I kind of expected more, but what we got was pretty cool. I won’t complain. I’m looking forward to seeing some of these traileros n the big screen when I go to see Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on Thursday. What are you looking forward to?
